Kvarner Amateur Film Review is one of the oldest reviews of this kind in Croatia, which was founded as a local review by Liburnija-film in 1969.

Up until now, participants mostly included independent authors and club members form Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, USA, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and from different cities in Croatia.
This review has gained its ‘regular authors’, from Croatia and abroad, which continually send their works and often receive main prizes of the KRAF festival.
Today the KRAF Review is of an international and competitive nature. The theme of the review is free, the only limitation being the length of the film 20 minutes.
Each year the films are assessed by a professional jury composed of film critics, publicists and creators. Best films are awarded the Grand Prix, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, special prizes chosen according to jury assessments and the Audience Award.

In honor of the 40th anniversary, the Kvarner Amateur Film Review will in addition to the regular festival program have a retrospective which will show some of the most successful KRAF films.

40 YEARS OF THE KVARNER AMATEUR FILM REVIEW – ''ALL KRAF FILMS''

Liburnija Cinema Video Club excitedly awaits the 40th Kvarner Amateur Film Review, the popular KRAF, one of the oldest of such in the region. In the year when the Club marks 50 full years of continuous operations our wish is to gather as many possible films which have been shown on this review but also to develop a database of the played films and their authors.

The Club has access to about 200 films which were either registered or shown at KRAF. However, a large number of films is unavailable or saved on VHS cassettes, on which material has become of low quality over time.

This is the reason why we initiated ‘All KRAF Films’, within which we ask all authors whose works participated at the review to send us films in digital media or if they are unable to do so, the send it in the available format. our contribution to this important initiative.

KRAF film archive, besides serving as an extraordinary document in the review itself, witnesses thematic preoccupations, author logs, and technological advances that throughout decades have been changing in film art.

Thus we ask you to join us in participating in this initiative, by sending films or collecting audiovisual and other documentation which will witness of our and your KRAF.
